is achemical and product tanker
(IMO type 2) with a double hull and single deck. The vessel is fitted with a diesel electric propulsion system delivered by SSP (Siemens Schottel Propulsion). Four diesel generator sets supply power to the propeller aggregate called POD, as well as the bow-thruster, cargo and ballast pumps, living quarter and all other electrical consumers. There are many advantages with this system e.g. manoeuvring, maintenance of engines, safety and redundancy, cargo hold 5% bigger etc. M/T Prospero is of cause also equipped with the latest technology regarding loading, discharging and navigation.
